The Government Advisory Board will provide counsel to Iridium as we continue to enhance our suite of products and services for federal and state civilian, defense, intelligence and law enforcement customers.

Lt. Gen. John H. Campbell serves as Iridium’s board of directors, and was formerly the executive vice president, government programs at Iridium. Previously, General Campbell served as principal, defense and intelligence at Applied Research Associates (ARA). In 2006, he retired from a 32-year career in the U.S. Air Force where he served in a variety of operational and staff assignments worldwide, including vice director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the first commander of the Joint Task Force - Computer Network Defense. General Campbell is the recipient of numerous military and intelligence community awards, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Air Medal, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency Award, the National Reconnaissance Distinguished Medal, and the National Security Agency Award. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master of business administration from the University of Kentucky.

Peter M. Dawkins

Retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Peter M. Dawkins serves on Iridium's board of directors, and has been a senior partner at Flintlock Capital Asset Management LLC since July 2009. Previously, Dawkins was vice chairman of Global Wealth Management for Citigroup Inc.; vice chairman of the Citigroup Private Bank; executive vice president and vice chairman of The Travelers Companies, Inc.; chairman and chief executive officer of Primerica Financial Services, Inc.; and head of the U.S. consulting practice of Bain & Company Inc. Dawkins began his career in the private sector as head of the Public Financing Banking division of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. A 1959 graduate of West Point, Dawkins served in the U.S. Army for 24 years. He was promoted to brigadier general in 1981. Dawkins holds a Ph.D. and master's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. He was selected as a Rhodes Scholar and studied at Oxford University from 1959 through 1962.

Donald M. Kerr Ph.D.

The Honorable Donald M. Kerr, Ph.D. is a research professor at George Mason University's Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering. He has served as principal deputy director of U.S. National Intelligence; director of the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO); and deputy director for Science and Technology at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where he received the Distinguished Intelligence Medal. Kerr has also held leadership positions at the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has received the U.S. Department of Energy Outstanding Service Award, the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal and the U.S. Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service. Kerr is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Kerr earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, a master's degree in microwave electronics, and a Ph.D. in plasma physics and microwave electronics from Cornell University.

Alvin B. Krongard

Alvin B. Krongard serves as a member of the Iridium board of directors, and previously was a member of the board of directors of Iridium Holdings from 2006 to September 2009. Krongard previously held the positions of chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of Alex. Brown Incorporated (Alex. Brown), an investment banking firm; vice chairman of the board of directors of Bankers Trust Company N.A.; and other financial industry posts. He served as counselor to the director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and was a member of the board of directors of PHH Corporation. He currently serves on the board of directors of Under Armour, Inc., and as vice chairman of The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation. Krongard received a bachelor's degree with honors from Princeton University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Lance W. Lord

Retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lance W. Lord is the chairman and chief executive officer of L2 Aerospace. Prior to this, Lord served as chief executive officer of Astrotech Space Operations where he led the execution of expanding core services from spacecraft processing support to a comprehensive line of end-to-end mission assurance services. Lord served 37 years in the U.S. military, most recently as the commander, U.S. Air Force Space Command. In this position, he oversaw a global network of satellite command-and-control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities to ensure the combat readiness of the U.S. intercontinental ballistic missile force. In his career, he also led more than 39,000 personnel who provided combat capabilities for the North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Strategic Command. Lord holds a bachelor's degree in education from Otterbein College and a master's degree in industrial management from the University of North Dakota. He was a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB, Ala.

Arthur L. Money

The Honorable Arthur (Art) L. Money served as the assistant secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (ASD C3I), a U.S. Senate-confirmed position. Prior to that, Money served as the senior civilian official, Office of the ASD C3I; the U.S. Department of Defense chief information officer; assistant secretary of the U.S. Air Force for Research, Development and Acquisition; chief information officer of the U.S. Air Force; president of ESL Inc., a subsidiary of TRW, prior to its consolidation with TRW's Avionics and Surveillance Group; and vice president and deputy general manager for the TRW Avionics and Surveillance Group. Money holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Santa Clara, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from San Jose State University. He has also completed advanced programs at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

Eric T. Olson

Admiral Olson, U.S. Navy (Retired), has served on our Board of Directors since December 2011. He brings nearly forty years of broad leadership, management and military operations experience to Iridium. Most recently, he was the commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command, responsible for the readiness of joint special operations missions worldwide. Previously, Admiral Olson led operational units within every component of the Naval Special Warfare community and served in senior positions within USSOCOM and the U.S. Navy staff. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1973 and qualified as a Naval Special Warfare officer ("Navy SEAL") in 1974. He earned a Master of Arts degree in national security affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School, and has been awarded the Defense Distinguished Service Medal and the Silver Star.

Peter B. Teets

The Honorable Peter B. Teets served as director of the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), where he was responsible for the acquisition and operation of all U.S. space-based reconnaissance and intelligence systems, and as undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force, where he was responsible for U.S. Air Force actions on behalf of the secretary of the Air Force and was acting secretary in the secretary's absence. Previously, Teets was president and chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation; an engineer in flight control analysis with Martin Marietta, where he later became president of Martin Marietta Denver Aerospace as well as president of the company's Space Group. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado, where he also received an honorary doctorate of science degree. He also holds a Master of Science degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2009, Teets received The General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award.
